SHOULTZ BACKYARD REVEAL!

Welcome to the Shoultz backyard project! Our clients were interested in creating an outdoor space suitable for adult leisure while adhering to their preferred modern aesthetic. Through this pandemic it has become much harder to find a safe place where we can gather with friends and family, so renovating the backyard to become more functional is exactly what was needed. Through this project we were able to extend our client’s living space by unleashing their backyards full potential. Let us take you through this backyard design where we had the pleasure of transforming a basic backyard into a breathtaking space made for a purely relaxing outdoor experience.
BEFORE THE TRANSFORMATION
This backyard was in need of a major upgrade. It didn’t fit the client’s needs, and overall this backyard could serve the family much better use considering the decent amount of space we had to work with. The main goal was to make this backyard a more versatile and functional place our client could use and spend time in with friends and family.
UPGRADE TO THE LANDSCAPE
One of the most impactful changes made was to the hardscape as we replaced majority of the lawn with concrete. Not only does it match the modern theme, but it also makes upkeep in the backyard much easier especially if the lawn is found unused. On top of the concrete, we could arrange the large pieces of furniture and hot tub, an area rug to add more layers, and some decorations like the potted plants which can be used to add back a hint of that natural more outdoorsy tone we previously got from the lawn.
VARIETY OF SEATING OPTIONS

A good place to sit is not hard to find in this backyard, offering a wide selection of seating from the sectional, to cushioned chairs, and even a pouf! The L-shape sectional is very convenient for seating a lot of people around a selected area and also fits perfectly around the fire pit in the middle. The chairs are also a great, more flexible option for seating.

TIME TO RELAX
The neutral, relaxing tones present throughout, from the sectional to the throw pillows to the potted plants, support the mood and function of the space. Another thing to love is the versatility and comfort which allows my clients to enjoy this outdoor experience at all times of the day. During the day there are umbrellas for shade around the table and lounge area, and for the evenings or chillier days there are string lights along the fence, a fire pit, and a basket of blankets. This backyard is also great for having some friends over or just some “alone time” where there are many places to lounge, have meals or casual drinks, take a dip in the hot tub, and enjoy the fresh air.
